We celebrated technology-using teachers in Monroe County on Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at the first annual EdTech on the River Raisin technology conference at MCISD. We had over 75 attendees and 21 presenters. Our presenters were almost all Monroe County educators who use technology effectively in their classrooms. We had awesome feedback from our attendees and almost everyone said they’d recommend the conference to a friend. Highlights from the day include:
Liz Kolb had a heartfelt keynote presentation on using your passion in life to fuel your fire for teaching students. It was inspiring!
Christine Schneider from MeL spent a day talking about interesting databases from the Michigan eLibrary. Teachers continuously commented that they were very impressed with all that MeL had to offer throughout the day!
Holly VanKlingeren ran a Breakout EDU room and teachers who were interested did a breakout titled, “Elf”, it was a Christmas in June theme and everyone loved it!
Chessi Oetjens from Monroe Public Schools talked about her #ProjectSparkle initiative and wowed teachers with a hands-on demonstration and special guest appearances by Project Sparkle students! See a short video during her hands-on activity.
Wasn’t able to make it? See our presenter session resources here!
